Short Bio
Graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2022 with his master's degree in Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration), Soul funk saxophonist Sam Kelly's one goal in life is to produce the kind of music that makes you feel genuine emotion. Sam is excited to share his true original voice with a new debut EP arriving in early 2023.
Born in Durango, Colorado, in 1991, Sam grew up in Dolores, Colorado, where he started playing the saxophone at 11. Though listening to various music genres throughout middle school and high school, Sam became a dedicated jazz student through his years at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, where he mentored Dr. Mark Walters, Dr. Johnathan Latta, and Jeff Solon, and others. Sam is a motivated educator at the iAM MUSIC Institute in Durango, CO, and one of the go-to saxophonists in the southwest Colorado area. Since graduating from Fort Lewis College in 2013, Sam has become a full-time touring musician and educator, balancing his time between his passion for music and his love for the outdoors.
